The Laurel has learned that after eighteen years Catie Talarski is leaving WNPR this summer. Multiple sources with direct knowledge of her plans indicate she will leave her full time position at the end of July, but remain available for some part-time work possibly into the fall.

As senior director of story-telling and radio programming, Talarski is one of the more influential members of the WNPR staff with a degree of control over the content of nearly all locally produced programming. Her loss – as one of the architects of CT Public’s mission, look, and sound – will leave a void inside the organization and deliver a hit to the company’s institutional memory.

There has been no word from Talarski or CT Public insiders about what her next professional move may be.
