From the outside it looked like a rational news decision being used as a talking point in right wing news media.
Monday morning, less than 48 hours after the assassination attempt against former President Trump, MSNBC decided not to air Morning Joe – the popular show co-hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski(Fox 61 & WFSB) – in favor of a breaking news feed. A few news outlets reported the move was based not on a decision to continue breaking coverage of the assassination attempt, but out of concern about what regular Trump critics who appear on Morning Joe might say on the air. That theory was at first dismissed, but less than 72 hours later it seems like there is more to the story.
Joe, Mika, and Willie are upset; and said so on Tuesday morning when they returned:
“Next time we are told there is going to be a news feed replacing us, we will be in our chairs,” Scarborough said. “And the news feed will be us, or they can get somebody else to host the show.”
