For sixty-seven years of marriage, Jean Rather put up with Dan Rather as the former CBS News correspondent and evening anchor traveled the world covering big stories.
We can’t be sure, but we think it must take a special person to support someone else in that way and Rather – now 93 – often gave her credit for the role she played in making him a success.
Jean Rather died Tuesday at age 89 of cancer.
