Mark Roy, a well known and respected member of the University of Connecticut communications staff, has died at the age of 72.
Roy worked on the communications team from 1981 until his retirement in 2009 and back when most Connecticut radio stations had news departments, contributed audio content to stations around the state.
A UConn graduate(1974), Roy was the news director of college radio station WHUS and after graduation became the news director of WILI in Willimantic. He also worked part time in the newsrooms of WPOP and WTIC in Hartford.
