Today, CT1 Media (Tribune Broadcasting) has launched CTnow.com as a statewide site for breaking news, entertainment and weather. This web page is the new online home of FOX CT, WTIC-61 and will replace Fox61.com. The company’s press release below highlights the site’s many new improvements.

HARTFORD, CT (JANUARY 28, 2010) – CTnow.com – Connecticut’s home page – is the new online home of FOX CT (Connecticut), WTIC-61 offering more local content than ever before as well as breaking news, event and venue listings, entertainment information and enhanced weather from FOX CT’s (Connecticut’s) weather team.  Users can also find smart living tips, lifestyle news, online games, regional news, snow school closings, health news and tips, local travel videos and more.

“CTnow.com is back and it’s not just an entertainment site anymore,” said Rich Graziano, publisher of The Courant and general manager of WTIC and WTXX-TV. “It has the information that people want like breaking news, weather, money savings tips and health reports. It also houses the most comprehensive database of restaurants, bars, and clubs in the state of Connecticut.”

CTnow.com made its original debut back in 1999. In 2005, courant.com was launched and CTnow.com became Connecticut’s entertainment portal. It has remained a popular news and entertainment brand throughout the state.
