Big Anchor Changes at WTNH

Will Sarah Welch remain on Weekend Evenings or will Ted Koppy anchor evenings and Sarah move to mornings?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….who cares. They’re all decent, none exceptional. It’s a demotion for the ageing Ann and it’s age discrimination ala Shelly sindland and christianson at 61..Darren is is quite good, otherwise..no biggie.

Okay, I get it:
Anchors = 1 male + 1 female
Weather is a Man Gig
Sports is a Man Gig
Traffic is for Girls

21st century? Not so much.

I feel bad for Sarah Welch if she’s off the weekends…. really like her and think she’s better than Kristen C.

As for “Tessa’s” comments about Shelly Sindland… that comparision doesn’t apply– her “discrimination” claim is bogus… AND she has NEVER been demoted at Fox 61.

I NEVER watch WTNH anyhow, if I want to see REAL news, I watch a REAL news station WFSB 3, They may be based out of Rocky Hill/Hartford, but they do a much better job than WTNH….

Desiree is a camera hog – Sonia is all about showing off her upper body. The rest of the crew are just fine.

With all due to respect to “Like I care,” no doubt WFSB has a great crew, but c’mon. You are telling me TIC, TNH, VIT doesn’t do REAL news??? What an absurd comment. (By the way, is naming winter storms a product of real news? Just curious. Because I thought NOAA was the only agency to do that…) Besides – if you put all the newscasts side by side – they are all doing the same basic thing anyway. If you want to make a real, thoughtful critique, “Like I care,” perhaps you should comment on the fact that all news is basically homogenized.

WHere’s Matt Scott in all this? Obviously not there which is too bad. I like the way he handles himself. Also wish Sarah was playing a bigger role. Jocelyn – I know she’s been there for a long time, but she always looks very unhappy. I hope she isn’t, but I really don’t want to see her on the news.

Just want to say that I watch channel 8 all the time and find that it is fine for me. Desiree is someone that I would not have picked for “public viewing” she is more a restaurant hostess person. She is always trying to cut Gil out of camera time, kind of a hog.
