Blumenthal Campaign Communications Director

Richard Blumenthal has hired a top-notch Communications Director for his US Senate campaign – Maura Downes, who will be the campaign’s liaison with the media. Okay, we’re a little biased because some of us here at The Laurel have worked with Maura, but ask any member of the capitol press corps; she’s terrific at what she does and is a good person. During the course of the past 15 years she’s worked in communications for Blumenthal as a member of the AG’s press operation and also worked for the Senate Democrats and the Secretary of the State’s office. Most recently she worked for Global Strategy Group.
