Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley’s 1 pm announcement of his future plans was postponed one hour on Monday. Dr. Petit’s statement in response to Steven Hayes’ death sentence started shortly before 1 pm and was carried by CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and all the local affiliates.
