Back when “Channel 3” referred to WTIC (named for Travelers Insurance Corporation), Bob Ellsworth was the first person to anchor the station’s 11 pm newscast.  Bob died Friday at the age of 84, and David Owens has a nice story about him in Saturday’s Hartford Courant.

A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on Thursday, October 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Clavier in West Hartford.
