Since the paper is now printed in Springfield(along with many others in Connecticut), the owners of the Waterbury Republican-American no longer need all the space in their iconic former train station headquarters on the edge of downtown Waterbury.

The Pape family, who own the paper and the building, are considering options including the conversion of much of the building’s space into apartments, a restaurant, and retail space. The Republican-American would continue to operate within about 10,000 square feet of the 70,000 square foot building.
