Gabriel Sherman of New York Magazine, who has made a name for himself covering Roger Ailes and Fox News, is reporting that Rupert Murdoch has decided to give Ailes an ultimatum: Resign or be fired. The only question is timing.
No other news organization has been able to confirm the report, but Fox News did nothing to squelch the rumor when it issued a statement saying, “This matter is not yet resolved…”
The news of the possible removal of the man most responsible for the success of Fox News comes less than two weeks after former Fox anchor Gretchen Carlson of Greenwich filed a sexual harassment suit against Ailes.
