Veteran Connecticut news anchor and Al Terzi has announced he’s stepping down from the Fox CT anchor desk. We’re told that Al will still co-host interview program “The Real Story” during this election year. Al moved to Fox CT less than two years ago after long stints at WFSB (2 of them) and WTNH. Here’s more from a very nice memo issued by Fox CT News Director Coleen Marren:

On the news side, Al is a two-time regional Emmy winner and the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from the New England Associated Press/RTNDA.  He was also honored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with a Silver Circle Award for his 25+ years of television service.  Al has covered politics like no one else in this state, including presidential campaigns, and he’s interviewed every major politician who’s played a role in shaping Connecticut’s history. On the personal side, Al is a military veteran and this year will celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife Carolyn—something he is really looking forward to. And there are seven grandkids playing school sports! Al will transition off the anchor desk on March 31; we’ll launch a search for his successor soon.  In the meantime, please take a moment to congratulate Al on his accomplishments and a great career anchoring here at FOXCT.  He is truly one of a kind.
