We are pleased to tell you that radio newsman and University of Connecticut journalism professor Steve Kalb reported over the holiday break that he is now – for “all intents and purposes” – cancer free.
Kalb was first diagnosed with Lymphoma six years ago. At the end of last month – after enduring a variety of treatments over those half a dozen years – he announced on social media that he is in remission. Kalb says the nature of the disease is that it will come back, but when it does he and his doctors are ready to take it down.

Six years ago, I said that cancer does not define who I am. It doesn’t. It has caused me to take a hard look at myself, but that is probably a good thing. If you have read this then I know you kept a good thought for me these past six years.
