Bernie Davidow has been a steady and guiding hand at the Hartford Courant since 1981. For 35 years, in a variety of newsroom leadership positions, he was always the editor reporters wished they had. For hundreds of journalists who have passed through Broad Street, he is the Courant. He leaves as state editor. Davidow, a father, grandfather and long-suffering Mets fan, lives with his wife Mary in Massachusetts, where he will start a job as a librarian in 2017.
