Bob Garfield, the 20 year co-host of the WNYC produced show, On the Media, was let go Monday after an investigation into workplace behavior.

The station said in a news release that Garfield broke the station’s anti-bullying rules, but Garfield defended himself on Twitter saying the incidents in question were not bullying “per se” and promised the truth will come out. He also seemed to suggest that his behavior was understandable in context.

In the past five years several high profile public media hosts have been let go under circumstances related to workplace behavior: Charlie Rose, John Hockenberry, and Tom Ashbrook among them.
