A Laurel reader suggested we check out the Register’s coverage of the Cheshire Library Battle (bottom line: whether the town librarian should remove the new book about the 2007 Petit family killings). Indeed the paper did an excellent job, with reporter Luther Turmelle on the story from the beginning and covering a number of developments and interesting aspects, such as the overlay of town politics on the controversy.
I’m sorry, but Luther Turmelle did not do an excellent job covering this story. He published his first report without checking the facts and got some items very, very wrong.
