Last week’s edition of CT-N Capitol Report: Week in Review marked the end of the program.
CTN has always been careful to remain non-partisan in its coverage of the state capitol, but legislative leaders have put an end to Capitol Report, which summarizes the week’s state capitol new, mandating that CTN provide only unedited coverage of legislative proceedings. This also means the programming offered by the network, and hosted by Diane Smith, will no longer be produced: the Opening Day show, Budget Address, Election Night, etc.
The Laurel is deeply disappointed. Capitol Report provides an informative, unbiased, non-sensational video archive of our state’s legislative history. We hope this decision is not final.
