The Laurel has learned News 8 anchor Anne Craig is leaving WTNH at the end of the month. She wants to spend more time with her two children. Station management says News 8 hopes to see Craig return on a fill-in basis and for special projects.
She has been with the station since 2011 and has been anchoring the 5, 5:30 and 11p.m. newscasts since 2014.
Craig will be replaced at 5 and 11 by Ann Nyberg, one of the longest serving anchors in the Connecticut market. Nyberg will be paired with Darren Kramer at 6, 10 and 11 beginning March 1 in what may be an unprecedented anchor schedule in Connecticut broadcast history.
