The head of Newsmax is joining those who believe the FCC should slow down the approval process to allow Sinclair Broadcast Group to move forward with its acquisition of Tribune Media.
Christopher Ruddy, an ally of President Trump, says the proposed merger raises serious concerns about the concentration of media power.
Tribune Media owns Fox 61 and WCCT in Connecticut. In addition to concerns about the size of the company to be created by the Sinclair/Tribune merger, many are worried that Sinclair uses its stations to promote conservative political ideas.
The Newsmax intervention comes as rumors swirl about Bill O’Reilly’s(WFSB) efforts to recruit Sean Hannity for a new project at Sinclair.
