The AP has announced it is building a team of state government specialists who will collaborate with existing statehouse reporters on new stories with new angles to show how state government is impacting the lives of Americans.
Since the AP has such an agenda setting presence in most newsrooms this could have an impact on coverage decisions by local news organizations as well.
