A lot mixed emotions this morning as Jamie Muro has announced he’s leaving News8. Jamie is heading over to the dark side, working in media relations for Sullivan & LeShane in Hartford. In his 8 years at WTNH, Jamie has not only been one of our best reporters, but his attitude and sunny demeanor have really been a positive in the newsroom, and he and TomP have gotten the Middletown Newsroom off to a great start. While I won’t miss his Dallas Cowboy helmet, I’ll definitely miss Jamie both on-air and in-person. Jamie’s last day will be Friday, June 28th. A search for his replacement will begin immediately. Please join me in wishing him nothing but the best!
Great reporter, better guy who will definitely be missed in the field. All the best, Jaime!
Essentially this means Channel 8 will hire another inexperienced low-priced reporter to replace him. But if you’ve seen the station’s ratings, the viewers are replacing Channel 8 as their choice for news.
Always enjoyed pulling up to a scene and seeing Jamie there. A great guy and a great reporter. Good luck, Jamie!
[…] The Laurel posted a station memo saying in part, “Jamie is heading over to the dark side, working in media relations for Sullivan & LeShane in Hartford. One of the last shining stars on news 8. Wtnh news is the worst. Not worth watching now.
