The latest edition of the AP Stylebook says you no longer have to capitalize “internet” or “web.”
The editors at the AP say readers just don’t think of internet as a proper noun anymore. It is likely this shift in thinking occurred around the time many people began to imagine Donald Trump as president and thought: Yeah – that makes sense!
