Those who worked with Bill Cotter are mourning him today. His journalism career included stints at the Ansonia Evening Sentinel, Waterbury Republican-AmericanNew Haven Register and the Connecticut Post. This from the Post’s Managing Editor, Mike Daly:

“Bill Cotter was for a newsman a rare combination of professionalism and of involvement with his community. He lived the life that we cover. He was a valued member of the volunteer fire services in the Valley. He was just a plain decent man and a mentor to I don’t know how many people in the newsroom. He has been sorely missed since he left, and now our feeling of loss is just more intense and more permanent,” Daly said.

Here’s the Post’s story about Bill. His wake is Sunday 2-6 p.m. at Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. The funeral will take place Monday, 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 75 Derby Ave., Derby.
