Leave it to consummate professional Gerry Brooks to wait till after the November ratings book to undergo prostate surgery.
Gerry writes on Facebook that he knew he had prostate cancer for more than a year and “time had come to do something about it.” Prostate cancer is often a slow moving disease giving patients time to decide how to address it. And Gerry, thank you for not “playing this for rating points in November” as you put it so well.
Gerry will be off the air at NBC CT until January 5th as he recovers. So we’ll have him back for the governor’s inauguration two days later. We’ll miss you, Gerry, but see you soon.
