Bruce McDonald, who was born in Westerly, Rhode Island, served in the U.S. Army, graduated from Johnson and Wales College in Providence, and spent most of his career covering the news of Connecticut on radio and in newspapers, died last week at the age of 78.
McDonald worked at WERI in Westerly, WICH in Norwich and WDRC in Hartford before moving on to the Norwich Bulletin, The Day of New London, and USA Today. At the end of his career he handled communications for the Mashantucket Pequots.
