Paul Heintz and the Ubinas Test.
Around the same time Helen Ubinas of the Philadelphia Daily News was buying an AR-15 at a gun shop in her city, a reporter for the website Seven Days was buying one in a parking lot at a Five Guys in Burlington, Vermont.
It took Ubinas 7 minutes to make the legal purchase. It took Paul Heintz about 40 minutes to do a deal that seems less by the book and involved a cash stuffed envelope.
What is more disturbing about Heintz’s story is where he went with his gun after the purchase. He first stopped by a news conference with the governor of Vermont(gun left in car) and later to Church St. in Burlington – the city’s popular retail center – that might have served as a target rich environment for someone other than Heintz.
