New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan have signed a deal to write what is being described as the definitive book on “the final act” of Donald Trump’s political career. The book is untitled and the exact subject matter is unclear, since we don’t know what the “final act” is yet, but one presumes it will include a presidential campaign – that may or may not go the distance – several criminal trials, perhaps a conviction, perhaps prison time.
Whatever the story, publisher Simon and Schuster is betting on the track record of Haberman and Swan who have built personal brands around their Trump coverage.
