Many Laurel readers will remember Cari Shane from her days as an anchor at WPOP Newsradio 14 and later as a reporter and anchor at NBC CT.
These days she runs her own public relations firm based in Washington, D.C. and recently purchased and renovated a rowhouse in the growing H Street neighborhood. H Street is near the U.S. Capitol and Union Station. It is one of the neighborhoods hardest hit by the riots of 1968 and until recently was still struggling as a result.
Cari still keeps her hand in journalism by occasionally writing for the Washington Post and this weekend the Post ran an article she wrote about her decision to invest in one of the city’s biggest stories of urban renaissance.
