Les Moonves, chairman and CEO of CBS, says the company plans to sell its radio station group over the next year.
The station group includes 117 stations in 26 markets including Hartford based WTIC-AM/FM and many all news operations in major cities from New York to Los Angeles.
The sale of CBS Radio by CBS is an incredibly important turning point in media history. The decision is similar to moves by some major daily newspapers to cease print publication and move completely to the Internet.
Before anyone says Edward Murrow must be rolling over in his grave, consider that the history of his career suggests that if he were alive today he would simply be Tweeting the story for CBSN. #goodnightgoodluck
