New Haven Independent’s public education reporter Christopher Peak will now be reporting for American Public Media’s investigative reporting and radio documentary project. His new job assignment is to work on a small investigative team looking into how schools teach literacy.
Peak was at the New Haven Independent for three years and “won numerous regional and national awards for investigative reporting,” according to New Haven Independent editor Paul Bass.
Bass also wrote that “it was [Peak’s] dogged day-to-day in-depth reporting that made a permanent difference in how we live and do our work. We all learned so much from Chris and benefited from his determination that we all raise our standards.”
