As Sinclair Broadcast Group continues to make adjustments in its plans to buy Tribune Media, a new story making the rounds of media news sites today illustrates how Sinclair is using its stations to promote a Fox News-like voice.
Internal memos show Sinclair station news anchors are being asked to voice news promos that accuse other news organizations of publishing “fake news.” According to reports, many local anchors, who at some point may have gotten into the business to be journalists, are uncomfortable with the situation.
As you know, Tribune Media owns Fox 61 and WCCT in Connecticut. If the Sinclair merger goes through – this could be a sign of things to come for Connecticut.
