Just a few hours after he interviewed at the White House for the role of FBI director, former U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman was the focus of a story in the New Haven Independent suggesting he has a conflict of interest.
Paul Bass noted Lieberman is a senior counsel for the New York law firm Kasowitz Benson Torres and Friedman – which has been a “go-to firm” for Donald Trump.
Some suggest Trump is considering Lieberman for the post because he is seen in Washington as a Democrat. Democrats in Connecticut view things differently since Lieberman left the party to run as an independent in his last Senate race.
