A Twitter poll of Laurel readers recommends Anderson Cooper of CNN as a permanent replacement for Scott Pelley as anchor of the CBS Evening News. Norah O’Donnell came in second.
Reporting from other sources suggests Cooper is locked into a long-term contract at CNN and CBS has no desire to break up the CBS This Morning band that includes O’Donnell, Charlie Rose and former WFSB anchor Gayle King.
However…CBS and CNN have a long history of finding opportunities to work together and one report suggests O’Donnell is willing to pull a split shift. Look for a decision by fall, according to multiple sources.
