Izaskun “Sassy” Larraneta will become executive editor of The Day of New London April 1, succeeding Timothy Cotter who is retiring after 34 years with the paper in various management roles.
The announcement was made late Thursday.
Larraneta is the managing editor of the paper and started with The Day in 1999. She is 46 years old and will be the first woman and first Latina to be executive editor in the paper’s history. Other newsroom changes will be announced in the near future according to an announcement to the newsroom quoted on The Day’s website.
