A management change at the top of Tribune Publishing is leading to speculation that the company may move to sell some of its individual properties.
CEO Jack Griffin was removed from his position Tuesday. His overall strategy was to keep Tribune’s print properties – including the Hartford Courant – together to increase national ad sales. Now that strategy may be in question.
An analysis from Poynter suggests the Courant could be one of several Tribune Publishing properties that could interest investors like Warren Buffett – who has expressed previous interest in mid-sized and small market publications.
