Den Brechlin will be joining us as the Managing Editor of The News-Times, and Managing Editor, Sports, Hearst Connecticut Media Group. Dan has worked the last four-plus years at the Hartford Courant in a handful of roles, including as sports editor dating back to September 2017. In that position, he oversaw the daily and long-term coverage of the sports department’s award-winning digital and print initiatives. Prior to that he was the deputy metro editor, helping to lead political, business and education coverage. In addition, he helped spearhead the Courant’s award-winning podcasts: Capitol Watch and UConn Insider. Prior to his time at the Courant, Dan worked for nearly six years at the Record-Journal as the city editor and a local government reporter.
