CT-N Controversy

The wording and intent behind a routine request for proposals issued by the Connecticut legislature has blown up into a full fledged news media crisis over the last two days.

Spokesmen for state lawmakers were forced Wednesday to defend a plan that would reduce the programming offered by the public affairs network CT-N and keep the network’s cameras focused mainly on the legislature at the expense of coverage of the executive and judicial branches.

Some lawmakers are of the mind that since they vote to fund CT-N they should get what they pay for. Still others believe the money lawmakers vote to spend on CT-N actually belongs to the taxpayers. In the end, only one of these views is correct. #impayingforthismicrophonemrgreen!
