The condition spasmodic dysphonia has gained attention recently as it’s the cause of Trump nominee RFK Jr.’s unusual speaking voice. Wednesday night, respected Connecticut broadcaster John Dankosky announced he too suffers from this voice disorder.
John disclosed this news at the beginning of CT Mirror’s 2025 “Big Budget Review.” Before he began his interview with Budget Reporter Keith Phaneuf, he said that he had heard from concerned listeners and announced that spasmodic dysphonia was the cause of a voice he described as “a cross between Bill Clinton and Katharine Hepburn.”
John said he is getting excellent care. We wish him many more years behind the microphone; his on-air tenure at WNPR set the gold standard and we hope to hear his unparalleled interviews well into the future.
