Here are the major news updates from today:
- President Trump announced yesterday that the CDC’s social distancing guidelines will stay in place through April 30.
- Governor Lamont said today that he asked President Trump to think of the New York City COVID-19 epicenter as a regional epicenter that includes NJ and CT.
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has begun its review of locations in the state for patient overflow. CT Mirror has more.
- Mystic Seaport Museum is laying off 199 employees amid its closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hartford Courant has more.
- Businesses and nonprofits considered essential during this time have been enumerated by the DECD here.
- Gov. Lamont has asked the private sector to help supply the state with personal protective equipment (PPE). The state’s request for PPE can be found here.
- Access Health CT added a special enrollment period for those uninsured that began March 19 and continues until April 2. Coverage begins April 1.
