The Laurel has learned long-time WFSB general manager Klarn DePalma is leaving the station to take a new management position within the Meredith Corporation, which owns WFSB. DePalma will be executive vice president of MNI Targeted Media, one of the largest digital ad agencies in the country, which is now owned by Meredith through its acquisition of Time, Inc.
DePalma will be replaced as general manager by Dana Neves, another WFSB veteran, who currently serves as regional news director for Meredith. Just this January DePalma marked 25 years with WFSB. Neves started with the station as an intern in 1995 and late last year marked her ten year anniversary as news director. She will be the first female GM of WFSB.
News of the management changes were made during an all-staff meeting at WFSB Wednesday morning, according to sources who may or may not have been there, but are in excellent position to know what may or may not have been said.
