Matt DeRienzo and the New Haven Register announced Monday that DiRienzo has taken a buyout and is leaving the company.
Most recently, DeRienzo served as group editor of all publications owned by Digital First Media, according to the New Haven Independent. DeRienzo’s only future plan at the moment is to join CTNewsJunkie.com to cover the 5th congressional district race.

“This is bittersweet for me, and I apologize for doing it by email, but this will be my last day as group editor in Connecticut and with DFM.
“My position, Northeast Regional Editor, is being eliminated, a move that I support. And it’s the right time for me to move on in my career.
