Matt DeRienzo, the former editor of the New Haven Register, has been named executive director of LION Publishers.
LION is a national organization formed to help local on-line news publishers succeed and grow. LION stands for: Local Independent Online News.
DeRienzo has been with LION for two years. The creation of the executive director position is made possible through a grant from the Knight Foundation.
