CT Mirror has announced that in its effort to include more diverse voices and perspectives in its reporting it is creating a public “Sourcing Diversity” database of Connecticut leaders, experts, and policy-makers. In addition, any reporter from any news organization in the state seeking diverse sources will be able to access this data base.
The database will be searchable by expertise, race, ethnicity, gender identity, and location. It will include only people who have consented to be listed. It is modelled after a similar data base in Pennsylvania. CT Mirror hopes to launch the Connecticut version of this data base publicly by Labor Day.
