The New Haven Register has won the 13th annual Robert G. McGruder Award for Diversity Leadership.
The award was granted by the AP Media Editors and the American Society of Newspaper Editors for the Register’s work to diversify its newsroom over the last three years and the improvements in the paper’s journalism that have resulted from those efforts.
The editor of the Philadelphia Daily News, Michael Days, also won this year.
