The FCC has given its approval to the merger between Nexstar and Media General.
The $4.6 billion deal makes Nexstar the third largest TV station ownership group behind Fox and CBS. Media General owns WTNH in New Haven. Staff there have been concerned for months that Nexstar’s first move will be budget cuts including layoffs.
