Former WFSB news director Mark Effron is leaving New York’s WPIX where he has been news director since 2013.
He told staff in a memo that he will stay on the job until October and said it was always his plan to leave after no more than two years. In addition to his work at WFSB, Effron worked at WDIV in Detroit, at MSNBC as director of daytime programming and as GM and executive producer of the public radio program The Takeaway.
No word on what Mark plans to do next, but we wish him the best of luck.
Rich Graziano, the former publisher of the Hartford Courant is currently the GM at WPIX.
