One of the all-time great guys has retired from WFSB: photog Jim Elliott. He never lost his Tennessee accent, sense of humor, or interest in the world around him. If one were lucky enough to drive along in the news car with him you might learn a Southern expression or two (“That guy is crazier than a June bug in July”). Here’s Jim’s goodbye from his FB page:

Thanks to Channel 3 and all my coworkers for a grand send off yesterday. This year WFSB TV is celebrating its 60 year anniversary and I have been there for more than half the time it’s been on the air.
It is an honor to have made so many good friends and to have worked with so many truly great professionals.
There I also met Marney Seymour. The best director who has ever worked there and more importantly the love of my life.
Thank you to all who made my time there so rewarding.
