We’re a bit late on this one but the 2020 New England Emmy nominations are out. Among the many nominations for broadcasting stalwarts Jim Altman (Fox61) and Kevin Nathan (NBC CT), we took notice of the “Politics/Government” category: congratulations to nominees CPTV (“Women’s Work: Amanda Webster), WTNH & Tom Dudchik for CT Capitol Report, and Mike Hydeck, Katherine Loy & Jon Wardle of NBC CT for an installment of “Face the Facts.” Winners are announced in June.
Of course it would give everyone great pleasure to see a win for the feature “Sisters Forever” from WFSB about conjoined twins carmen and Lupita Andrade Solis; this was one of Denise D’Ascenzo’s last projects. She’s nominated along with producer Tracy Furey and photog/editor Eric Budney. Recently the story won a Murrow award.
