If it seems you’ve been watching Darren Sweeney do weekend weather for a long time, you’re correct. He just logged his 16th year at NBC CT and 18th year in the Hartford/New Haven market (2 years at WFSB).
He’s been burning the candle on both ends and has decided to take a break from TV meteorology – for now. He’s a full-time tenured journalism teacher at CCSU; plus, he earned his real estate license during the pandemic as a side hobby that has blossomed into more.
He’s also getting married next month so things are looking great for Darren Sweeney. And on weekends, he can finally wake up after the sun rises.
