WCBS in New York is cutting two of its three sports anchors, leaving only former NBC 30 sports anchor Sam Ryan in place, according to today’s New York Daily News.
One of those being laid off at WCBS is Ducis Rodgers, who is married to NBC30 reporter Diana Perez. Might Ducis head our way? Perhaps ESPN will scoop him up. Or will they both leave the area? Whatever happens we wish them well.
Diana has a 2 year contract with NBC30 that just started in June… All the local stations seem to have a full staff of sports anchors. 30 has Kevin and Mike, with Joe D to fill-in. Maybe Ducis can follow in the footsteps of Yvonne Nava’s husband and freelance at NBC30 or another network as well as work at ESPN?
